Always a delight to see Little Owl. This one was at a traditional nest site near the River Medway just outside of town. The bird sat on a post for me, away from the tangle of branches in the oak tree, where it has a nest. The same tree has a Barn Owl nesting in a box - I had only brief views of it this morning, being harassed by Magpies in the field behind. I heard at least one Turtle Dove by the lock today, so hopefully at least one has nested nearby.
